Fixtures list 2019

Saturday 9th March

Admission: Adults £15, Concessions £12, Juniors (13-15) £5, Kids 12 and under FREE when accompanied. Includes full colour souvenir programme whilst stocks last.

Admission: 2019 sees the cost of domestic adult/concession admission increase for the first time in 4 years. Whilst no price increase is ever welcomed, it is worth bearing in mind that inflation alone accounts for £1.43 of the £2 increase in adult admission. Insurance and other cost increases have outstripped inflation, meaning an increase was unavoidable. We have held junior prices whilst kids aged 12 or below remain free when accompanied. We also continue to include our raceday programme with admission (whilst stocks last). With a top-class roster of formulas we look forward to an excellent 2019 season at the Racewall and we will continue to strive to provide our drivers and spectators with the best race experience possible.

The green flag drops on season 2019 at the Racewall this Saturday with a mouth-watering five formula line-up featuring the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars, Saloon Stock Cars, Ministox, Prostocks and Micro F2s.

Ministox and Prostock drivers are encouraged to book in via their home promotion as soon as possible.

BriSCA F2 Stock Cars
The BriSCA F2 Stock Cars will begin their Scottish season. In pre-season practice, there were several new cars in action, including that of Scottish Champion 629 Euan Millar. Millar was the eventual victor of the Track Championship here at the Racewall last season and was in action at Skegness and Birmingham last weekend – picking up some good results. 236 Daniel Scrimgeour was another in action south of the border and is sporting an eye-catching new colour scheme for 2019 whilst we should get our first glimpse of the re-worked car of 3 Liam Rennie that was on display at the Motorsport With Attitude Show in Peterborough in late February.

World and National Series Champion 7 Gordon Moodie has switched to Zetec power for season 2019 and whilst he had a somewhat quiet night at Birmingham last Saturday, he excelled on Sunday at Skegness in very wet conditions. British Champion 647 Chris Burgoyne had his shale car out practicing last Sunday at the Racewall and whilst he was not the quickest on track he was not slow either. Visiting interest is set to include 251 Craig Driscoll and 982 Martin Bentley whilst 751 Les Smart will journey north for the second time this season having made the trip for our second practice session a fortnight ago. Booking list below:

Saloon Stock Cars
The Saloon Stock Cars will make their first appearance in Scotland this year. Like the BriSCA F2s, the Saloons have already had their opening meetings of the season south of the border, at King’s Lynn and Skegness. 219 Luke Grief successfully defended the Clive Grief Memorial Trophy on Saturday evening, with 600 Barry Russell coming home in second place. 125 Euan Mathieson, one of the stars the last time the World Championship was at Cowdenbeath with some epic acrobatics, started his season with a roll over, whilst National Champion 661 Graeme Shevill, 671 Ross Graham and 777 Alan Ainslie were also in action.

8 Holly Glen had her car on display at the Autosport show in Birmingham and has looked quick in practice, as has 5 Tam Rutherford Jnr, who after a very strong display at the final meeting of the season at Ipswich was crowned Ipswich Track Champion. These two could prove particularly hard to catch from the yellow grade.

The Saloons are due to benefit heavily from a big influx of newcomers in 2019. 92 Brian Hogg Jnr is set to switch from the BriSCA F2s, former Junior Banger and Prostock star 697 Jordan Cassie has the ex-Paul Sparrow Audi at his disposal whilst 55 Alisdair Smith is also joining the formula. Add to this the returns of 46 Chris Carey and Scottish Champion 684 Ian McLaughlin, the Saloons look stronger than ever for 2019. The booking list will appear on www.saloonstockcars.com when available.

Ministox
The Ministox will make their first Racewall appearance of 2019. There have been strong turnouts at every practice session this year, with over twenty youngsters taking to the track over the three Sundays. 629 Taylor Borthwick was one of the quickest over those sessions, and has two new cars at her disposal for this season, whilst 607 Declan Honeyman and 647 Lewis Clark Burgoyne also looked quick. 688 Lauren Ford showed a good turn of speed towards the end of last season and could be one to watch from the yellow grade whilst 601 Logan Bruce is set to make his first appearance of the season with the silver roof of National Points Champion.

128 Ciaran Adams is set to make his first racing Racewall appearance in a long time whilst 050 Ross Lawrence will enter his last full Ministox season. 165 Jamie Dawson and 682 Max Walker will join Lawrence on the journey south from Crimond whilst 675 Charlie Faichney will make his debut Ministox appearance. Scottish Champion 32 Ian Taylor is one of the drivers that has signalled his intention to race, as has Prostock Basic graduate 327 David Izatt.
