The Stock Rods, 1300cc Saloons and National Hot Rods get their Racewall seasons underway on Saturday evenings with plenty of thrills and spills expected. The BriSCA F2s and Saloons will join them on track for what will be a great evenings’ entertainment.

BriSCA F2 Stock Cars

The BriSCA F2 Stock Cars will continue their Racewall season. World Champion 7 Gordon Moodie took both heats and the final last week but strong showings from Garry Sime and 3 Liam Rennie mean that Moodie sits third in the track championship. 629 Euan Millar was off the pace slightly last week as he gets used to his stunning new car whilst 41 Dennis Middler made his return to racing. 236 Daniel Scrimgeour picked up a good points haul that he will aim to add to on Saturday evening whilst both 217 Craig Reid and 751 Les Smart picked up points at the first attempt of the year. There is set to visiting interest in the F2s once again this week as 19 Dave Waterhouse makes his track debut from Rochdale. Booking list below:

Saloon Stock Cars

The Saloon Stock Cars will make their second appearance of the year, following the impressive season opener last weekend. 5 Tam Rutherford made a winning start to the season with a brace of wins and a second in the double points final whilst final winner National Champion 661 Graeme Shevill has taken the early lead in the Grading Points after a good start to the season. Scottish Champion 684 Ian McLaughlin marked his return to racing with a third in the final whilst 8 Holly Glen showed a good turn of pace with her new GRP. 95 Peter Marioni and 697 Jordan Cassie are set to continue their fledgling Saloon Stock Car careers whilst there is set to be a return to the Racewall following his success in the Clive Grief Memorial for 219 Luke Grief. 670 Ross Watters will be looking to get his new car dialled into the Racewall and 501 Ally Strachan will make his first racing appearance of the season. Stock Rods
The Stock Rods will make their first appearance of the season at the Racewall. There have been plenty of cars at the pre-season practice sessions and things look good for the season with more new drivers joining the formula. World Champion 363 Lee McGill has already started his season as he travelled to Nutts Corner last weekend alongside 263 Dean McGill, both of whom picking up some strong results. Scottish Champion 197 James Gray and ORCi Champion 83 Michael Bethune both have stunning new cars at their disposal for this season and ran well in practice, as did 612 Leon Stewart.

644 Martin Rankine has a striking new colour scheme for 2019 whilst 351 Stuart Wedderburn will be racing a Vauxhall Corsa C for the first time. Turner Trophy winner 62 Liam McGill aims to make a permanent move to the Stock Rods whilst 333 Steve Gunby will be joined on track by stablemate and ex-Prostock Basic driver 444 Neil Gilogley. 40 Kris Simpson and 686 Euan Robertson are others who aim to start their Stock Rod careers on Saturday evening whilst one of the front-runners at the aforementioned Nutts Corner meeting last Sunday, 78 Daniel Rogers, plans to join us in what is shaping up to be a top class season from the Stock Rods. 1300cc Saloon Stock Cars
Young Guns Series Round 1
The 1300cc Saloons will make their first racing appearance of the season. Like the Stock Rods, car numbers hit mid-teens in practice and a good entry is anticipated on Saturday evening. National Points & Scottish Champion 668 Fraser Clark has a Corsa D at his disposal for this season and was one of the quickest cars in practice as was 246 Lee Wilson. 73 Aaron Hastie has an eye-catching new colour scheme for this season as does 255 Graham Osborne. 546 Charlie Folan and 622 Gary Paterson also have nicely signwritten cars – similar to the way that their Minis were painted in the last couple of years!

The 1300cc Saloons are lucky to benefit from an influx of newcomers this season, including Prostock Basic National Points Champion 688 Dougie Ford and Scottish Champion 488 Kieran Edgar. 410 Callum Sturrock is another driver stepping up from the entry-level class whilst 833 Scott Lindsell makes the switch from the Bangers. 06 Gregor Whyte is perhaps one of the most local drivers ever to grace the Racewall whereas in stark contrast 54 Stephen Gilmore aims to race for the first time, all the way from Northern Ireland! The 1300s will get the meeting underway with a new-for-2019 Young Guns Series, open to all drivers aged 25 or under on the 1st of January 2019. Booking list below:

National Hot Rods
World Championship Qualifying Round
The National Hot Rods will make their opening Racewall appearance of the season. The race for the World Championship slots at Ipswich at the beginning of July is hotting up less than 50 points separating 94 Steven Armit, 77 Ian McGuigan and 36 Roy Anderson. The Hot Rods have benefitted from a number of new drivers of late including 34 John Maver and 71 Gordon Alexander, whilst 142 James Mooney also aims to join the class soon.
