There were fireworks both on and off the track at the Cowdenbeath Racewall on Saturday night as the stock car season came to an end.
On the track the fireworks were mainly in the prostox where Jardine Millar managed to roll his car, Ian Christie rode the pit bend wall, there was a pile up on the pit bend which saw Paul Reid and Stewart Aitken left with battered cars and when an engine blew on the top bend there was carnage with four cars sliding into the wall whilst others spun!
Robert Henderson was back in his formula II after missing a couple of seasons whilst Dave Sturrock was back in the saloons after missing nine years!

MOODIE ENDS SEASON IN STYLE!

Mark Dews was the only visitor from south of the border whilst Kevin Bruce and Jason McDonald were down from the north of Scotland.
Heat one saw Gregor Turner lead from start to finish to win from Ewan Ewart and Robbie Dawson. In heat two Dawson went through to win from George MacMillan Jnr and Marc Fortune.
Holly Glen was the initial leader when the final started but next time around McDonald was the new leader with Ewart soon appearing in second place with Turner third. Gordon Moodie, who had struggled with a misfire in the heats, was making up ground quickly and at the half distance was through into the lead. Once there he cruised away from the pack to win from MacMillan Jnr and McDonald.
In the Grand National Ewart just managed to fend off MacMillan Jnr to score a narrow win with Turner in third and Moodie in sixth place.

DOUBLE TROUBLE FROM ALEXANDER

In the saloons there were four visiting drivers from Crimond, Sturrock back in the ranks whilst Ross Houston was back from Northern Ireland.
Heat one ended with Gordon Alexander winning from Willie Mitchell and Ian Low. Mitchell then held on to win heat two from Ian McLaughlin and Alexander.
Although Mike McCombie led the cars away when the final started he was caught by Adam Low on lap six before there was a stoppage after Stuart Drobinski had to retire. Low led on the restart for a couple of laps before Alexander caught and passed him and then he went on for his second win of the night leading home Barry Russell and Mitchell.

A NELSON HAT TRICK

Barry Nelson went through to win heat one leading home David Glencross and Derek Nimmo. Nelson again led heat two from start to finish finishing clear of Glencross and Nimmo. Despite his advantage slightly reduced when the final started Nelson again led the complete race but Glencross was right on his back bumper as they crossed the finish line with Paul Carruthers in third.

ACTION PACKED PROSTOX

There was a good turn out of prostox drivers with their ranks split into two with the non qualifiers having a consolation to try to qualify for the final.
Heat one saw the win go to Kev Baird who won from Ally McDonald and Ricky White with only six cars making it to the finish. In heat two Ian Taylor went through to win from Tam Linden and Keith Abernethy. The consolation race went to Norrie Moore who led home Kev Easton and Patrick Calderwood.
Baird led the cars away at the start to the final but on lap four the yellows were out after Kevin Letford crashed into the wall. Baird led initially but then Gordon Brown moved through into the lead only for another stoppage, this time after Millar rolled his car.
Brown then led from Ian Berry only for Tam Page to catch both and then move through into the lead. Page then eased away to win from White and I.Taylor
The Allcomers race was decimated when an engine blew and eliminated more than half the field. In the end Calderwood took the chequer finishing ahead of Tam Melrose and Tam Taylor.
