To help those making plans we have included information below about travel and accommodation options.
Travel & Accommodation
The Racewall is easily accessed by both road and public transport. A reminder to those long distance travelers to our events in August to book train/air tickets and hotels early as the Edinburgh Festival's (the largest Arts Festival in the World) take place 4-28 August and therefore train and plane services are busy and hotels in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas do fill.
Travelling by Car: Our postcode for SatNav users is KY4 9QQ. Please not that the Queensferry Crossing (New road bridge across the Forth) is due to open in May and therefore the approaches to and from the forth crossing will be slightly different from those in the past.
The Racewall is located in the centre of Cowdenbeath (signposted Central Park). There is a car park immediately outside the stadium and one a few minutes away (behind the leisure centre). Please note these are likely to fill early during major championship events.
In addition there are also car parks within a short 5 minute walk from the stadium including a large car park near Morrisons Supermarket as you enter the town on your right.
A map of local car parks (there is no maximum stay at weekends) can be found here.
We enjoy a good relationship with our local Council and Police Scotland and would ask that spectators who make use of on street car parking are courteous and refrain from blocking driveways and access for our neighbours.
There are also Park & Ride options in Dunfermline offering plentiful car parking. This includes at Dunfermline Queen Margaret Train Station (see train guidance below) and Halbeath P&R Bus Terminus (Service 19 travels to Cowdenbeath)
Travelling by Train: Cowdenbeath Train Station is a 5 minute walk from the stadium and provides regular services from Edinburgh. The current timetable for the service can be found on the Scotrail website :
See: >The East Coast and Fife>Edinburgh & Fife Timetable for the latest timetable.
The last trains from Cowdenbeath Station on a Saturday evening are 22:22 and 23:29 which allow spectators to travel home after the conclusion of the evenings racing (racing will normally conclude no later than 10pm).
Due to our town centre location there is unfortunately no camping available at the stadium itself.
The Welcome to Fife website provides a searchable database of B&Bs, Hotels and Campsites. The following regions of Fife are all within a 15 minute drive of Cowdenbeath.
- Dunferline & West Fife
- Mid Fife
The leading accommodation booking websites will all return results near Cowdenbeath also.
As well as plentiful local options there are a number of hotel chains with properties in Dunfermline (Best Western, Travelodge, Premier Inn , Holiday Inn Express & Weatherspoons) just 10 minutes from the stadium and Glenrothes (Best Western, Premier Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Travelodge & Weatherspoons) 15 minutes drive from the stadium. Search their websites online for availability.
