Iona Sibbald was born in 2015, from Bathgate, Scotland. At the young age of 8, Iona embarked on her racing journey, igniting her passion for motorsport. She began her racing career in the Micro F2 formula at her home track in Cowdenbeath. Despite her young age, Iona quickly demonstrated her talent and love for racing, although she admits she is still finding her feet in the competitive world of Micro F2 racing.

Throughout her junior racing career, Iona has achieved notable success, including earning the title of Newcomer of the Year in 2023. Her journey in racing has been filled with memorable moments, from meeting new friends to experiencing the adrenaline rush of her first race meeting.

Despite her growing skills on the track, Iona remains humble and open-minded about her future aspirations. While she is uncertain about what she wants to be when she grows up, one thing is for sure – her love for racing continues to drive her forward.

John Sibbald, also known as 629, has guidied Iona around the Racewall, drawing from his own racing experiences in Ministox and now National Hot Rods. However, Iona’s admiration and inspiration stem from 629 Taylor Borthwick, her favorite driver, whom she looks up to and seeks to emulate.

In her racing endeavors, Iona has yet to identify a specific rival, preferring to focus on her own growth and development as a driver. With her determination, passion, and talent, Iona Sibbald is undoubtedly a rising star in the world of motorsport, poised to leave her mark on the track for years to come.
