2024 Unlimited Banger World Cup

The BBA Unlimited Banger World Cup, generously sponsored by R & M Injection Services Ltd, is set to make a thrilling return to the Racewall in 2024. It promises an action-packed evening highlighted by the Unlimited Banger World Cup, complemented by the youthful energy of the Junior Bangers and the ever-exciting Saloon Stock Cars. Bookings for this highly anticipated event are now open and flooding in from across the country. Current world cup champion, 327 Mick Maskell Jnr, is just one of the many drivers eager to defend his title. Thanks to the generous support of R & M Injection Services Ltd, the prize fund for this event has skyrocketed to an impressive £3000, providing a fantastic incentive for Unlimited Banger drivers.

Shuttle Bus

Thanks to Rogerson Coach Travel there will also be a free shuttle available from Halbeath Park and Ride, Halbeath, KY11 7EG

The bus will leave Halbeath at 3pm & 4pm and return after the meeting.

Parking

Please be considerate of our neighbours and park in one of the many free parking areas around the town. A number of these are highlighted in red in the attached map. There will be additional FREE spectator parking at Chapel Street. Entry will be from Broad Street operating a ONE WAY SYSTEM exit via Rowan Terrance.

DO NOT park on verges or block access to properties – the authorities will ticket or remove your car.

Turnstiles 

Spectators are permitted to enter the stadium starting at 1:30 pm, with one turnstile operational initially. The remaining turnstiles will open at 3:30 pm. Furthermore, there is an exclusive advanced ticket-only turnstile accessible at the Chapel Street entrance, offering convenient parking and faster admission. Buy your tickets here.

50/50 Ticket Sales

Our 50/50 raffle tickets will be on sale just inside the turnstiles. Winner takes home 50% of the evenings takings. Draw closes 30 minutes after the turnstiles close.

NEW Racewall Bar

Our NEW Racewall Bar will be open located on the pit bend terracing near our hospitaility suite. As well as our usual catering outlets for all your food and soft drink requirements.

Drivers Information

Saturday 27th April –  Key Information

Pit gate will open at 1pm. Drivers must report to Racewall Reception to sign in. Please ensure you’re signed in before scrutineering.

Unlimited Banger Drivers must take part in the pre-race parade lap. This will be driver plus 1 mechanic only. Please ensure you both have overalls on.

Sponsorship

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of R&M Injection Services Ltd and the promotion this year’s prize fund stands at an impressive £3000. The winner will walk away with £1250, with £750 for the runner-up and £500 for third place. Additionally, £250 each will be awarded for the best-presented car and the most entertaining driver. In a tribute to the late Scott Ramsay 70, the Racing for Ramsay Cup will be presented to the winner, honouring his enduring legacy in the Banger racing community.

Scrutineering

Scruitneering will take place at your vehicle from 2pm. LOG BOOKS MUST be present at both scrutineering and signing in. A working fire extinguisher must be shown at scrutineering. 

Prize Money

As normal regular drivers will receive their prize/start monies at the next meeting attended. Travelling drivers should report Racewall Reception after the last race is finished to collect. Log books must be shown to collect. 

Parking

We would like to remind all drivers to park in the correct location to stop congestion in the pit area. Please ensure you arrive together should you wish to be parked together. This applies to allow formulas. 

Drivers Briefing

TBones – Any deliberate hits between the wheels on either side of the car are outlawed. Anyone who in the opinion of the meeting steward is guilty of this will face a minimum of a three month ban with no element of the ban allowed to be suspended. Any driver who in the opinion of the steward does this illegal move at high speed will face a much larger ban. Hits over the wheels are still allowed. Dangerous and/or irresponsible driving as deemed by the Steward will incur a minimum of three months ORCi ban. For avoidance of doubt, length of the straight T-bones is considered dangerous and/or irresponsible driving.

For further guidance, the following examples may also be considered as dangerous and/or irresponsible driving at the discretion of the Steward:

  • Attacking a car which has been stationary for what the Steward determines to be a significant 

length of time.

  • Attacking a car which is clearly already crippled

Unlimited Bangers

The 2024 Unlimited Banger World Cup promises an electrifying spectacle, featuring the best Banger drivers from around the nation vying for glory. Reigning champion Mick Maskell Jnr and seasoned contender Jack Overy are among the formidable competitors eager to seize the coveted title. Adding to the excitement, Sean McConnachie, known for his flamboyant entrances, is sure to bring his trademark flair to the event. In a tribute to the late Scott Ramsay 70, the Racing for Ramsay Cup will be presented to the winner, honouring his enduring legacy in the Banger racing community.

Junior Bangers

This Saturday, the Racewall is gearing up for an exciting lineup of Junior Bangers, adding to the thrill of the Unlimited Banger World Cup. Emerging talents like Morgan Bailey 478 and Rylee Taylor 517 are set to showcase their skills and contend for victory among the junior ranks. Meanwhile, seasoned Scottish drivers who impressed at the January New Year meeting, including Cole Ford 388 and Dougie Kidd 45, are set to join us once again.

Cole Ramsay 70 and Scott Ramsay Jnr 710 will be hitting the track this Saturday. Racing in memory of their dad, 70 Scott Ramsay.

Saloon Stock Cars

The Saloon Stock Car final will also include a £500 prize for the winner, held in honour of Ian Gray, a devoted Saloon Stock Car enthusiast. Gratitude goes to Ian Gray’s Family and Friends, who, as longtime supporters of Saloon racing, have pulled together £500 for this winner-takes-all final. Additionally, a unique one off trophy will be awarded to the winner. Early booking list below.
