Ian Gray Memorial Final – Saturday 27th April 2024

9th April 2024

The Saloon Stock Car final on Saturday 27th April 2024 will include a £500 prize for the winner, held in honour of Ian Gray, a devoted Saloon Stock Car enthusiast. Gratitude goes to Ian Gray’s Family and Friends, who, as longtime supporters of Saloon racing, have pulled together £500 for this winner-takes-all final. Additionally, a unique one off trophy will be awarded to the winner.

Ian Gray, a beloved family man hailing from Corstorphine, dedicated 40 years of his life to attending Stock Car gatherings across the UK, spanning from Newtongrange and Cowdenbeath to Taunton. Alongside his family—Jane, Connor, and Fiona—Ian was a regular fixture at the Skegness Speed Weekend. Among his cherished traditions was the annual pilgrimage to Kings Lynn for Saloon meetings, shared with fellow Saloon enthusiasts Duncan Littlejohn, Stevie Snell, Jim Baptie, and Greig Rooney, all based in Corstorphine. In honor of Ian’s memory, these close friends have contributed £500 and a trophy for a special Saloon race. Ian formed enduring friendships within the racing community, and we extend our gratitude to all who have offered their condolences and kind words. Despite bravely battling cancer for the last 18 months, Ian passed away in February. He held deep admiration for drivers of all grades, and the sight of a bustling field of Saloons giving their all in this race would undoubtedly have filled him with immense pride. We’re certain he’ll be watching from above, cheering on the action.
