August Practice Events

The Cowdenbeath Racewall is delighted to announce, that for the first time in 5 months, we will be opening our doors in August for a series of ‘closed’ practice events – unfortunately these events are NOT open to spectators.

Dates & Timings

Each event will run 1pm-4.30pm. Pit entry will be from 1230pm and will ONLY BE OPEN TO THOSE DRIVERS WHO HAVE BOOKED IN ADVANCE TO ATTEND.

To maximise track time only selected formulas will be permitted to practice as follows:

Saturday 8th August: 2L Saloon Stock Cars, BriSCA F2; ORCi Stock Rods
Saturday 15th August: ORCi Ministox, National & Classic Hot Rods, Prostock Basics (all grades) & Prostocks
Saturday 22nd August; Formula’s TBA

Details of practice for MicroF2 drivers will be announced on the Racewall/Crimond MicroF2 teams Facebook page.

Costs

The cost of participating in each practice event is £40 per driver including one mechanic. Should you wish a second mechanic to attend an additional fee of £10 will apply i.e. £50 in total. These prices are set by the ORCi.

In order to maximise the track time for drivers, each event will be limited to a maximum of 60 cars with a limited number of formulas running at each event.

Payment is on the day at the GMP Reception HOWEVR only debit/credit card card payments will be accepted. No CASH payments will be taken. Please queue in a socially distanced manner wearing the relevant PPE (see below).

How to secure a practice space

Spaces at each event are limited to the first 60 bookings made on each date in advance by submitting a request via the driver booking form HERE which enables us to collect the essential track and trace information required to run this event.

Drivers who do not have an accepted advanced booking will be refused entry to the stadium.

To book, complete the online form. In the ‘Information’ field please enter a contact telephone number AND whether you will be accompanied by one or two mechanics.

We will confirm back to you via email that your booking has been accepted. Remember - there will be no turning up on the day without an accepted booking.

There will be strictly no car sharing at these events – one driver to one car.

On the Day 

Social Distancing

This is a strictly Social Distanced event and all in attendance must stay 2m apart, this includes parking your race vehicle with at least a 2m distance between the next driver. Whilst government Guidelines are relaxing, it is still vital to remember that COVID – 19 is still a danger, so please ensure you and your mechanics maintain your 2m distance at all times.

All drivers and mechanics will be required to supply their own racing PPE (helmets, gloves etc). Face coverings and disposable hygienic gloves must be worn at all times by both drivers AND mechanics once within the pit area and stadium except in the case of the driver when you have your racing PPE on to practice.

A reminder there will be strictly no spectators allowed entry for these events.

Race Raceivers

All drivers (excluding Bangers0 must have a race receiver fitted to allow appropriate direction to be given to you by race officials during the course of practice. 

 

Toilets/Catering

Toilets and limited catering will be provided but social distancing must be maintained whilst queuing to use the facilities.
