May Speedweekend Advanced Tickets & Info

11th May 2016

Cowdenbeath will reverberate to the sounds of engines thrashing and bumpers clashing with top flight Stock Car action as the first of our Speedweekends takes place on the 14th & 15th May and what a line up we have in store.

On the Saturday gates open at 1230pm with pre-meeting practice running from 1415-1530 ONLY.. The rest of the afternoon will feature some special activities from the get-go with free bouncy castle for the kids  through to start time at 5pm.

The Saturday evening's racing features two major events, the first - The Keir Millar Memorial Final, will also be the first race on the programme so do not arrive late! The race is a culmination of rounds at Barford, Crimond and Lochgelly and provides us all with the opportunity to remember Keir and celebrate all that he achieved and gave to others during his all too short life. A perpetual trophy will be on offer for the winner which will remain on permanent display in the stadium.

The BriSCA F2s also feature with the 36th running of their Scottish Championship, defended by 647 Chris Burgoyne.

The action will come thick and fast with the Saloon Stock Cars and ORCi Stock Rods both contesting their qualifying heats for their respective Gilmore Engineering sponsored British Championships.

Onto the Sunday and racing will commence at 1pm featuring the Championship races for both the Saloon Stock Cars and Stock Rods whilst the Ministox have their Mascot Trophy to chase and the Micro F2s add to the fun. Once the Championships are over their is still much to race for including one of the Saloon highlights of the year the 228  Raymond Gunn Tribute Race defended by 507 Paul Honeyman.

We are indebted to the Gunn family and in particular Davy Gunn who has drawn together a great list of additional sponsors for this event which ensures there is a big prize fund for the race. Ray Goudy Trailers, DK Salvage, Stuart's Coaches and A9 Auto Services have contributed a total of £400 to the prize fund which will be distributed across the places and grades whilst we at GMP Scotland will also once again be adding in £228 to be awarded to the Race winner. Our thanks go to all our race sponsors and Davy Gunn and the Gunn family also pass on their thanks to the sponsors and wish the drivers good luck as they know you will give it your all when the green flag drops.

The weekend can be enjoyed by adults via a great value for money discounted two day ticket costing £25 - meaning you can enjoy both meetings for less than the cost of two domestic meetings! You can purchase tickets in advance by clicking Eventbrite.
