Driver Grading and National Points System

Grading Overview

Drivers are graded based on the National Points they accumulate within each meeting. Grades determine the start position on the grid, with higher grades starting further back. Grades are color-coded as follows (highest to lowest):

  • Silver/Champion – Top Grade

  • Red

  • Blue

  • Yellow

  • White – Novice Grade

Grading Periods

  • Points cut-off: 20th of each month

  • New grades effective: 1st of the following month, unless otherwise stated

Grid Positions by Grade

Cars are gridded by grade, with White (novice) drivers at the front, followed by Yellow, Blue, Red, and Silver/Champion at the rear.

National Points Scoring

Points are awarded in each race as follows:

Heats, Consolations, Allcomers, Last Chance Qualifiers:

  • 1st to 10th place: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Meeting Finals:

  • Standard scoring: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

  • For Saloon Stock Cars only:
    If 20 or more drivers compete in a meeting, Final points are doubled.

Determining Driver Grades

Grades are generally calculated based on a driver’s Average Points:

Average Points = Total National Points ÷ Number of Meetings Competed

However, there is an exception for BriSCA F2, where:

Grades are based on a driver’s total points scored, not the average.

There is no fixed cut-off score for each grade. Instead, the number of drivers in each grade can vary based on current participation levels.

Note: A driver can be upgraded by a maximum of two grades in one grading period.
